06 Feb 22.08. – The fight for the win in the disciplin foil continues
The foil competitions at the Mercedes-Benz Kitesurf World Cup are entering its crucial phase. On Tuesday, the foiler competed in six more heats. Again, the visitors saw fast and interesting races where the athletes reach the high speed of 70 km/h
In the 10th heat, Florian Gruber could achieve his best result (4.) and stays on the fifth place of the overall ranking. Like in the races before, Gruber had a lot of problems with the seaweed, which winds around his board.
“You lose a lot of speed because of the seaweed and if you want to get rid of it you have to jump. After that it takes some time to get back to full speed. I tried another way, but sadly the Baltic Sea is full of it.”
In the overall ranking, the Frenchman Nico Parlier still stays on top of the podium. Alex Mazella is second, Olli Bridge third.
