06 Feb 23.08. – Kite-Park Show enraptured audiences at the beach of Fehmarn
There hasn’t been any wind on Wednesday at the Mercedes-Benz Kitesurf World Cup, so there could be no official competitions at this day. Anyway there has been many action and acrobatics shown for the visitors at the South Beach of Fehmarn. The Jet-Ski replaced the wind at the Kite-Park-Show and pulled the Board-Acrobatics above the slider, which could have been used as a jump, to show spectacular moves.
In addition to that, Sabrina Lutz from Hamburg, ex European champion and multiple German champion in Twintip-Freestyle, proved her skills at the slider. “It’s wonderful, to show your tricks in front of so many spectators. There is no pressure, like in a competition and I can try some new maneuver. It was a lot fun!”, she told us, after her show-performance. The visitors enjoyed the spectacle over the Baltic Sea in bright sunshine and spent a sunny late summer day on the event grounds of the larges kitesurf event in the world.
Mercedes-Benz Kitesurf World Cup goes on with further competitions until Sunday, 27th August. Guess there will be a record attempt, called “Race around the Island” at Friday. Twelve selected kite surfers want to circle the island as fast as possible und undercut the previous best time of 2:48 hours, set up by windsurfing legend Bernd Flessner.
